The NFL On CBS, But With A New Twist

  1. This is how thin-skinned and cowardly the mainstream press is. Whenever they get criticized by the right, they feel the need to kowtow to them to maintain a false veneer of objectivity.

But what they're really doing is normalizing the views of rifht-wing racists, xenophobs, homophobes, sexists, theocrats and fascists.

    Smh…

  2. Hey I'm all for the participants calling out the lies…BUT the end result of that is "he said he said". The moderators SHOULD be the actual fact check for veracity. Anything less is…as one poster put it…A dereliction of Duty.
The Job of a journalist is to be correct and factual…not just a face to ask for lies.

  3. I think that’s what would call a cop out or a Pontius Pilate move by CBS. They don’t want to deal with or simply even be bothered about not holding the candidates accountable for giving straight up lies (hyperboles and inaccurate numbers can be given a pass), so they leave it to them.

  4. Courage to seek the truth in real time is what I expect of the 4th estate. I mean you're protected by the Constitution which is protected by the Supreme Cou…oh, I get it now. Is it too late to be an acountant?

  5. Seriously how hard can it be to insert the end segment only after the last words in the clip have been spoken?
You have to think Colbert's video editor is just trolling at this point.

  6. Fact check each other? Are we even talking facts at this point… or… what was the term… alternative truths? Seems like there should be full teams of fact checkers for those things. Some facts can be open to interpretation depending on how we perceive a situation too… That sounds like a terrible idea. Guess I’ll watch post debate analysis instead.

  7. Comparing debate rules with a stupid "football" game rules is ridiculous!
Most people don't know that it's not debate moderators job to fact check…it should be candidates who should fact check each other…that's what debate is about!

  8. Brandolini's Law basically states that it takes more effort to debunk BS than produce it. How's an honest debater have a level playing field with a conscience-less liar? So what are moderators there for?
